Was she kidnapped or was she not?

A 15-year-old schoolgirl who was reported missing after going out with a female friend to top-up her handphone credit, was found in Kuantan on Wednesday.

District police chief Superintendent Azid Ismail said police spotted Nor Nabilah Mat Yaakob with her boyfriend outside a 24-hour convenience store in Taman Tas about 10pm on Wednesday.

He said initial investigations revealed the girl's 26-year-old boyfriend, who is married with a child, had picked up Nor Nabilah from here before driving back to Kuantan on Monday night.

"The girl had previously fled from home to be with her boyfriend and had expressed her intention to quit school.

"We have recorded a statement from her boyfriend, who is self-employed, and the girl has been handed back to her family," he said yesterday.

Nor Nabilah was last seen on Monday evening when she sought her mother's permission to top-up her handphone and meet some friends.

However, the female friend, who picked her up later, claimed that she had sent Nor Nabilah home several hours earlier.

Calls to Nor Nabilah's handphone went unanswered and the family lodged a missing person's report on Tuesday morning.

This is the second case in a week after 15-year-old Siti Nur Fatihah Mahadi from Taman Tas staged her own abduction before she was found at her boyfriend's house in Kampung Merchong on Tuesday night - NST
